The New Day vs The Elite (Bullet Club)
Young Bucks and Kenny Omega being friends with Xavier Woods, Big E and Kofi Kingston has sparked many social media interactions and rivalry suggestions. The New Day known to be over-the-top, bright and fruity – doing what they want in the WWE world. The Bullet Club known to be careless outsiders, doing what they want in New Japan and on the US indies. WWE vs NJPW/ROH, but with the Young Bucks and Bullet Club running their own indie event “ALL IN”, it’s become an even bigger dream match and rivalry!
2014 The New Day made their stable debut in WWE, while in the world of NJPW Kenny Omega joined Bullet Club, which just months prior AJ Styles began to run.
2015 The New Day gimmick caught on after Wrestlemania 31 with a new rhythmic chant “New, Day sucks”.
2016 AJ Styles was leaving NJPW for WWE. Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks of The Bullet Club, formed “The Elite” stable. The Elite attacked AJ Styles on his way out of NJPW, Omega taking over the Bullet Club. Omega and Xavier Woods did promo videos (Part 0, Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4) promoting their upcoming competition at CEO 2016 in Street Fighter V.
2018 A third Street Fighter V encounter (promo tweet) became The New Day vs The Elite at E3, which even WWE’s website covered. After the game, Woods and Omega made closing comments addressing them coming together from 2 different worlds, changing the world, and potentially working together.
“This day is what we have been working on, together, for the past 3 years. So we want to say that we appreciate every single person, anybody who’s ever watched a dumb video that we made, anybody who’s ever picked up a controller, anybody who ever picked up a stick because they love fighting games. 4 years ago I reached out to him on Twitter, I slid in his DMs. I said, ‘Hey, I know you like fighting games, you like video games. I do, too. We both wrestle.’ We’re from two different worlds, these two groups, and hopefully we see a day where it all comes together exactly how everybody wants it to. Today was step 1. So go tell your friends that didn’t watch this, that they need to watch this. Go tell your friends that aren’t talking about this, that they need to talk about it because what happened today is because of these three right here.” [Points to The Elite]
“You know, it’s true. Years and years and years ago, two men set out on a path. A path to change not only the wrestling world but the world of video games as well,” Omega said while also recovering from the peppers. “We felt that, yes, these two worlds should come together. They should unite. We shouldn’t be against each other, we should all work together towards one common goal. Somehow because of the powers that be, because of you people that wanted to see it happen, this, this video game competition, has happened between people from two completely different companies. In a literal sense, it truly is a new day. I have a catchphrase, Change The World, and that’s exactly what people like The New Day are doing, and that’s exactly what we’re trying to do here. Guess what, everyone? We don’t hate each other. In fact, what we want to do is work together to give you guys the best entertainment package you’ve ever seen. As far as I’m concerned, step 1 was a giant success. This feud, as of today, is over. However, at some point in time, Creed, I hope I run into you again. And even though, yes, I respect you, yes, in fact I respect all of you, I may even love you…”

Who would win this rivalry?
Can it happen?
Yes, if contracts line up correctly the WWE will always want to sign independent talent who can sell. It’s worrying what would happen to The Elite’s and Bullet Club’s creative input and freedom in WWE, but they can always sign WWE contracts. The major note to the possibility is that the NJPW owns the “Bullet Club” name, and WWE is not known to run inter-promotional events. “The Elite” could definitely be seen on a WWE program as The Elite name belongs to the Young Bucks and Omega. If WWE wants to use the Bullet Club name however, they would need to come to an agreement with NJPW. WWE already has past Bullet Club members of Finn Balor, AJ Styles, Gallows and Anderson. The Bullet Club name may be a goldmine for WWE to obtain, however WWE is known to create new identifying properties.
